Ms Fervier

Kelsey Fervier Science

I am so excited to be spending this year teaching at Northwoods! While I grew up and spent my middle school and high school days in Atlanta, I am a 2016 graduate of the College of Charleston, Go Cougars!. I have a Bachelor’s of Science in Anthropology and a Biology Minor and am a self proclaimed science geek¬≠ having taken and adored an extensive list of science courses including General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics, Genetics, and Biochemistry. It is an absolute privilege to get to work with both you and your families and I look forward to helping our 8th graders develop in the most thoughtful, analytical, and inquisitive scientists they can possibly be!

This Week's Updates & Assignments

Welcome Nighthawk students and families! For the next few weeks we will be covering the Forces and Motion unit and delving into physics. So far we have covered calculating speed, Newton's Second Law of Motion, and balanced and unbalanced forces. This week we will be learning about inertia, Newton's Second Law of Motion, and gravity and friction! With each new indicator we're covering, there are 7 this unit, students will have a personalized learning plan to complete with all of their assignments and homework on it. This helps keep the students organized and display their mastery of each topic. Each indicator will have a 10 pt quiz at the end and students will have the option to retake the quiz should they not make a 70% or above the first time. So far we have taken two quizzes this semester and will have another one this Thursday (9/22).
