Canva
Canva is a digital design platform used by students and staff to create presentations, graphics, videos, infographics, and other creative projects that support learning and communication.
Canvas
Canvas is Charleston County School District's Learning Management System (LMS). Teachers use Canvas to post assignments, course materials, announcements, and instructional resources. Students and families can use Canvas to stay informed about coursework, upcoming assignments, and classroom learning.
Chromebook
Chromebooks are district-issued devices that provide students with access to instructional materials, digital assignments, assessments, and online learning resources.
EC (Exceptional Children)
Exceptional Children Services provides specialized instruction, accommodations, and support for students with disabilities to ensure access to a high-quality education.
IGP (Individual Graduation Plan)
The Individual Graduation Plan helps students begin exploring their interests, strengths, academic goals, and potential career pathways. Students begin developing and updating their IGP during middle school as they prepare for high school and beyond.
Jostens Renaissance
Renaissance is a school culture framework focused on building relationships, recognizing achievement, celebrating growth, and creating a positive environment where students and staff feel valued, connected, and motivated to succeed.
ML (Multilingual Learner)
Multilingual Learner services support students who are developing English language proficiency. These services help students access academic content while strengthening their language skills.
MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports)
MTSS is a framework used to provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support based on individual student needs. Through MTSS, schools identify areas where students may need additional assistance and provide targeted interventions to help ensure success.
ParentSquare
ParentSquare is a communication platform at Northwoods Middle School to strengthen connections between home and school. The platform allows families to receive school, classroom, and district communications in their preferred language, helping ensure that important information is accessible to all members of our school community. Parents do not have to change anything to get the information. It will come to their phones via text or email. Parents can download an App for additional accessibility.
PowerSchool
PowerSchool is CCSD's student information system. Parents and guardians can use PowerSchool to view student grades, attendance, schedules, report cards, and other important academic information throughout the school year.
SC READY
SC READY is South Carolina's statewide assessment used to measure student achievement in English Language Arts and Mathematics.
SchoolCash Online
SchoolCash Online is the district's secure online payment system used for field trips, activity fees, athletics, yearbooks, fundraisers, and other school-related purchases.
SIC (School Improvement Council)
The School Improvement Council is an advisory group composed of parents, community members, educators, and school leaders. The council works collaboratively to support school improvement efforts and provide input on school goals and initiatives.
Title I
Title I is a federally funded program that provides additional resources and support to help students achieve academic success. Title I also promotes meaningful family engagement and partnerships between schools and families.
